Where’s the best place in Yamba for breakfast and what would you order?
“Of course Beachwood is the best place for breakfast or brunch! Everything is fresh and lovely. Try our house-made rose petal jam on Turkish toast or folded through yoghurt, or poached fruits, an organic mandarin juice, and our coconut and cinnamon bread. If you’re after something substantial our Turkish eggs or avocado, tomato & feta on Turkish bread are good options. Add an All Press coffee or try our own freshly made mint tea. (If you sleep in Beachwood is also open for lunch and the local Iluka sardines are legendary.

Where’s the best place to buy fresh local seafood?
I buy all of my seafood from local fisherman Donald Anderson, who sells from his boat behind the Marina. He has the freshest Yamba prawns – and also catches bugs, cuttlefish and octopus.  You can also buy great quality seafood direct from Bur’s trawler also at the Marina.

Where are the best views in town?
The best view is over looking the surf at Back Beach – especially when the waves are big!

What’s your favourite beach?
I love Back  Beach in Angourie – great for walking, surfing and swimming.

Is there a good bush or coastal walk you would recommend?
The coastal walk from Back Beach at Angourie to Shelley Beach is so lovely. It’s a bit of an adventure along a designated track and will take around two hours. Pack a picnic and have a swim to cool off along the way. Keep an eye out for wallabies!
